11/30/2003: "November 28nd, 2003"

Today Jennifer Brown called me at around 9:30 to see if I wanted to go sking with she and Sun. It was snowing, a nice dry powder. It got dark by 3:00pm whichwas a little scary because it was snowing really heavily and it was dark and I could barely see coming down my last run of the afternoon. At one point, I actually got air borne, which scared the crap out of me.

Tonight I watched the movie "The Italian Job" it was soooo good. I love a well crafted heist movie and Edward Norton and Mark Walberg are two of my favorite actors so it was doubly enjoyable to watch.

Then, out of curiosity, I pulled out an old saw I had that I tried to play for a long time but could never get it to sing. It is a real saw, not a musical one. I wondered if I could play a non-musical saw now that my technique has improved. And guess what? I was able to play it. It's smaller and has a much different sound. Higher pitched. It's pretty cool. God this is a boring entry.

Oh yah, last night I scanned in a couple of water color paintings I did of Hedwig from Hedwig and the Angry Inch hedwig2_thumb (18k image)hedwig3_thumb (18k image) hedwig1_thumb (18k image)

Hi James,
this is from near the end of the movie when Hedwig takes off his wig and is in the auditorium alone with Tommy Gnosis on the stage singing to him. I like this moment because it's the part where Hedwig realizes that his obsession with Tommy is not going to go anywhere, where he has to let him go. (it's three seperate paintings viewed sequentially)

Are you the artist in Alaska that makes the musical saw lapel pins?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out www.sawlady.com
Go to the 'musical saw collectibles' page and scrol down.
