06/21/2004: "Summer solstice"

It's nearly 10PM and I'm getting ready for a bonfire on Sandy Beach to celebrate the longest day of the year. The temperatures are still sweltering but I imagine it will be cooler down by the water. I came home after work and really wanted to figure out what I'm going to do for this quickdraw thing on Sat. but I must admit that my mind is completely void of ideas. Also, I'm discovering that half the people I'm inviting to my opening are going to be out of town for the long 4th of July weekend. I must admit that I worry more about being embarassed in front of people I know who know how hard I've worked on this...embarassed by a lack of turnout for show, not selling anything or not getting any bids on my acution item for the quick draw etc.). If know one I knew was going to be there I suppose I wouldn't care nearly as much. I always get this way before a show. I really feel like tying one on tonight, not that that helps anything.
