09/08/2004: "If I wasn't laughing I'd be crying..."

I was happy to come home tonight and see that there were several newspapers and TV news programs covering the story of renewed questions about Bush's service in the National Guard. Jere is an excerpt from one of these stories:

"The President's National Guard commander said he felt pressured by higher-ups to "sugarcoat" his evaluations of the young pilot after grounding Bush in 1972 in part for failing to perform up to standards, according to military memos disclosed Wednesday.

The documents, presented on the CBS News program "60 Minutes," appeared to contradict Bush's and the White House's longtime contention that the future president was voluntarily grounded in August 1972 because he took on non-flying duties while helping to run a political campaign in Alabama.

A Bush spokesman did not challenge the authenticity of the documents but dismissed the new information as "dirty politics."

HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH

This after weeks of enduring Swift Boat Vet's Who Lie and Endearing statements from the Bush Team such as this gem from Vice President Cheney (Reported in the New York Times):

"Cheney declared: “It’s absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we’ll get hit again and we’ll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States.”

Furthermore, Cheney suggested that the United States could return to a “pre-9/11 mind-set” where attacks are viewed as criminal acts, not part of a war against terrorism, according to The Times."

That's right boys and girls, if John Kerry get's elected were going to receive another devestating hit by terrorists...Who is using fear for political gain? What was that definition of terrorism again?
