01/04/2005: "The KTOO Dog & Cat Show AND The 3rd Annual Eros & Art Juried Erotic Art Exhibit"

KTOO is the place where I just had my solo in December. I finally took the show down on Monday with the help of my friend Jennifer. This is a call for entry that he asked me to pass along. It's just a thing for local artists but I like the concept, and think it would translate well as a fund raiser for other public radio stations in a town near you! I plan to do a piece for it, it will give me a nice chance to play around and have some fun.

Can dogs and cats get along together? They can - if theyšre part of KTOOšs upcoming Dog & Cat Show, scheduled for March, 2005.
During the course of a year, the station normally hosts the works of a variety of local artists. For a change, they decided to have a show dedicated to artwork featuring dogs and/or cats.

"We know many who have been inspired by their pets, and wešd like to showcase their art featuring those inspirations," said Jeff Brown, organizer of the show.

The exhibition is open to all kinds of artists, but is limited to work ready to hang, with a maximum size of 20" x 30", or free-standing, if a pedestal is provided. The art must arrive at KTOO during business hours between February 28th and March 2, unless other arrangements have been made.

"We're open to most things, including art by dogs and cats themselves," said Brown. "As long as itšs presented well."

An opening night celebration is planned for Friday, March 4th at KTOO.

Works will be judged by a group of artists and pet lovers, and a variety of prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded. Many of the works will hang in the KTOO hallways for the month of March. Any proceeds from the sale of the works will benefit KTOO-FM, Juneaušs public radio station.

As part of the exhibit, KTOO-FM will also host a radio call-in program, inviting listeners to call in with their personal pet stories, as well as featuring songs about dogs and cats during various music shows.

Maybe I could kill two birds with one stone and paint a couple of cats being "amorous".

Dear Elise,

I answered to your question regarding my post on the comments section but that post is not visible anymore so, I figured I would leave a message here too. :D

I have had a hard time letting someone go and for that reason I tried to figure out exactly what I felt towards love. It did not work and I am still not feeling great but I guess knowing what I feel and why is a start.

That makes sense...writing everything down can help...to quote the immortal J. Geils Band:

"Love stinks
yeah yeah
(Love stinks)"
