02/19/2005: "Painting in a Series?"

I really liked that photo I posted (Feb. 16th) of the wetlands taken while driving into work. I wanted to use it in a painting, but the layout didn't seem right for one of my bluegrass paintings. Then I thought, you know what? Srew it! I can paint whatever I feel like...so I did. The painting looks pretty good, the photo is too dark, but I was feeling lazy and didn't want to set up lights to photograph it better; I'd rather spend my time painting.

Then, to make up for doing a painting not sticking with the "theme" I started another new painting of a woman playing the musical saw on a mountain top. I'll post a picture of that tomorrow when I'm a little further along.

The painting is lovely Elise and because I have been doing stained glass, I can really see it working in glass too.

Oh, I *love* stained glass. I was convinced a few years back that I was going to learn how to do it and I did all of this research on it, then I had a conversation with a friend who said I should maybe concentrate on one medium for awhile, as I was always complaining of not having any focus.

Well, I never did buy the supplies or learn how, but I would still *love* to. Do you have any examples of something you've made with stained glass?
