12/29/2005: "Homeward Bound"
I'm getting ready to take off for the airport and I'm feeling sad. I always hate having to leave my family and friends. I have a 4 hour drive to Omaha, then I'll spend the night at a hotel and fly out for Alaska in the am. I always get a bit stressed out at this point...having to say all my goodbyes and with a long journey ahead.
This year I got to see Micheala, my best friend from high school, as well as AnnMarie, my next door neighbor and another close friend from high school. Annie and I are a lot alike and our discussions always motivate me to dream big.
Wish me luck on my trip home, I guess an Alaskan airlines flight (the only airline that flys into Juneau) had to make an emergency landing on a flight out of Seattle a couple days ago because one of the out-sourced baggage handlers ran into the plane with a baggage truck and didn't report it so it but a foot long rip in the fusselage and the plane depressurized at altitude. Plus, there was just a fatal small plane crash at the Omaha airport today so...that doesn't ease my fear of flying at all.
Anyway, I hope I'll get back into my creative zone when I get back, though the last few weeks have been very restful. Until, I hope all of you have an incredibly fun New Year's Eve! Drink an extra shot of whatever for me!
