So, I thought I'd post a quick photo of the University's entry in the Juneau 4th of July parade, it was taken by Brian Wallace at the Juneau Empire...I would have just linked to it but you have to register now to read their stories.
:(
As you can see, I was part of the dancing dragon...I look like I'm last in line but actually it curved around behind me. This photo was taken while we were standing still, the head of the dragon fake biting little kids in the crowd to get them to scream and giggle...it was a lot of fun.
This photo doesn't do it justice, it was really sparkely and being on the inside was surreal and beautiful. We had to dance the entire parade route sort of making an S curve down the middle of the road...and when we'd fall a little behind we'd have to flat out run to get caught up. It was a bright sunny day and got pretty hot under there but I'm glad I did it.
