07/07/2006: "Moose Jerky Taint and Other Stories!"
Well, I haven’t been that great at posting lately…so what have I been up to? I went sailing with Brian and Ann on Wednesday; it was great windy fun despite my tendency to get bossy but hey, that’s the Skipper’s prerogative! Afterwards we met up with some other sailors at the Douglas Island Pub for rowdy booze-fest. Social anxiety makes some people quiet and shy but tends to make me loud and obnoxious (even though I drank very little).
Yesterday and today I’ve been sick due to (I’m guessing) some tainted moose jerky (another reason for going back to vegetarianism) but who knows…taint is everywhere these days.
Speaking of which, I’ve been doing some global warming inspired work lately. That film an Inconvenient Truth *really* had an impact on me, it’s something I think about daily now and so I’ve been creating dyptics…first lush Alaskan scene with figure as always, second same scene post global warming type disaster. Not as pleasant perhaps but still makes me feel better for some reason, I’m just not sure if this is the direction I want to go.
