Cobalt Embrace
by Elise Tomlinson,
Oil on Canvas 20"x 24"

In this painting I wanted to create two more color pyramids, this time inverted. The sky is wide, and creates an inverted base to the pyramid. The blue of the figure in the fetal position creates the inverted apex.

To even it out, I created the second color pyramid using a wide orange base and the orange hair as the apex.

I have always loved using the complimentary colors of orange and blue together in figures. Blue, is another example of a figure where I combine these two colors.
