This series was based on images I saw while flying over tidal planes
on my way to the Tlingit village
of Kake Alaska for a cultural infusion project where I learned to
prepare traditional subsistence foods.
Flying low over the tidal flats in a small bush plane
I was struck by their intense beauty. Later
my friend John took me up in his small plane so I could re-shoot the photographs since
he knew lots of little coves and inlets where he thought I could get
some
good shots.
