02/25/2008: "Your Mission, Should you Choose to Accept It!"

Oh my, someone emailed me and asked me if my blog has a “mission statement”. Funny timing because I just came out of a 4 hour reaccreditation meeting for the university where I work, and everything relates back to our mission statement.

It got me thinking though, hmmmm, if my site had a mission statement, what would it be?

The truth is, I’ve never thought about it. How about: “Don’t be evil”.

Oh what, that’s already taken. And also, it’s more of a slogan than a Mission Statement.

Anyway, I have no clue. Any suggestions? (extra credit points if it's in the form of a haiku)

I wanted to tag you.
Here's how it works:
1) Find a book closest to me with at least 123 pages.
2) Turn to page 123 and go down five sentences.
3) Type the next three lines into my blog.
4) Tag five other bloggers.
A mission statement for a blog thats interesting and bears some serious thought.
Hummmm

Painting… The final frontier

These are the paintings of the Artist Elise Tomlinson.

Her continuing mission:

To explore strange new aesthetics…
To seek out new images; new methods...
To boldly go where no artist has gone before!

Start Trek is better than Mission Impossible.

Bea, yours is how I would like to see myself, life as art and all. I need to start putting more of that on canvas however, and soon! Very nice if I want a more serious, reflective motto, and you did stick to haiku, and you know how I feel about haiku!

JEM, yours is great too, only I don't know how comfortable I feel having "nudes" so close to "that's Me"...(shudders!)
:P
I'm also loving the haiku!

Judy, I did this meme from home today and the closest book was one on home brewing beer and the bit it pointed two five lines down was pretty dry. The second closest was the Jane Austen Book Club, which I'm currently reading. That had a better bit but I will have to wait until tonight before I write it out on your blog.

Phillip, I'm all ears!

Rob, yours is what I'd go with if I wanted it to be funny...and I agree that Start? Trek is better than Mission Impossible, no comparison.

Anyway, I'm withholding my final selection into all submissions are received!

Oh Elise, you know you run around your house naked all Sunday afternoon. Especially now that you're getting married. J/k
The final frontier one is pretty funny!

Wait a minute, are we neighbors?

Just kidding!

I *never* run around the house naked. Trust me on that...and especially because I'm getting married.
