05/04/2004: "Two newly started paintings"

These are two new paintings I just started, the first one I really like, it started out having more fiddlehead ferns in it, but the colors were more fall colors and fiddleheads are a spring thing. The figure is an homage to Picasso's "Blue Nude". The second one I haven't painted the figure at all yet and the background is still in the texture building phase...plus the photo I took cropped off the right hand side and there was too much light so it looks all washed out...but otherwise...
