06/27/2005: "Feelin like a bruised sack o crap..."

The good weather is back, I got a knock on the door sat. morning from a retiree who lives on the corner of my block. He offered to give me his spare lawn mower. I wasn't sure how to take that, maybe he'd seen me out there trying to mow the lawn with a pair of scizzors, which is what I've been doing since my non-motorized push mower quit working.

The blade on the mower he brought over wasn't adjustable and it was set really low, took about half the yard down to the brown mossy underbelly and left nary a blade of grass before it died on me. I felt badly because he kept coming back to try and fix it but it kept dying so finally he took it back, said he'd try to get it working again and then came back with his other mower to finish mowing my yard. The blade on his was set higher so now my yard has a nifty mowhawk! He was trying to help which was the important thing.

What else? After the lawn work, I went to my a fellow artist's house who was having a garage sale for her art supplies. She let me know what she was going to be selling ahead of time and I got a bunch of great deals. Canvases, brushes, paints, another easle, a print rack...It was exciting, especially all the new brushes. They inspired me to start painting again...so I spent the *entire* day today essentially painting one cloud (in the Trio painting). The cloud looks good - it damn well better after 8 straight hours!

Then tonight (Sunday) my cough got crazy bad. I've had this dry tickly cough that won't seem to go away. I don't know if it's related to the painting chemicals or what, I'm sure the smokey bar Friday night didn't help...anyway, tonight I can't seem to quit, and my head hurts and I feel achy on top of that. I hope I'm not coming down with something. I think Osiris is sick too. Poor guy. He kept coughing today too and then yacked after dinner. For some reason I'd feel worse if the Liquin is making my cats sick, than if it's making me sick. I need to get a better ventilation system then a fan in the window.

The cats and I had a yack-fest here once when the pilot light went out on the water heater. Got natural gas anything that might be leaking a little? Hope everybody feels better!

Wow, I can't imagine what that yack-fest must have been like with all your cats...that much have been a nightmare!

Well, my hot water heater is electric and the heating is oil, so...I don't think we have gas, but I do need to get new batteries for my Carbon Dioxide monitor. Probably it's just an aggressive case of ennui.

Ahh!! You said, "Ennui".
That will be Twenty-five cents please.

I actually thought of you when I wrote that! Sorry I missed your call again, I've been going for walks at night so it's kind of hit and miss getting ahold of me.

I'm excited you have a date set to come and see me. Yippee...
:hehe:
